Training & Certification

EiToP provides training and certification services to cover all its clients’ requirements and scope of work. To avoid interrupting the client’s schedules, plans, and work continuity, EiToP can provide training and exam services for certification either online or at the client’s site. Services include, but are not limited to, the ASNT-TC-1A courses and examinations, the special course EiToP developed called the OCTG Inspection Training program, and much more.

OCTG Inspection Training Program

Course Outlines:

Our training sessions are led by a certified DS-1 Instructor and conducted online with an option for a face-to-face add-on. They offer a blend of lectures and hands-on exercises (where possible) through visual aids such as photos, presentations, and samples.

The training course offers valuable information and skills regarding the implementation of inspection procedures for all OCTG based on DS-1 (5th Edition) and API RP7G. Additionally, it provides basic knowledge on utilising various standards and specifications for OCTG inspection, as well as an understanding of the drilling process, drilling rigs, rig components, and potential component failures.

Subjects:

• Introduction to How Oil Drilling Works, NDT basics and using Standards and Specifications
• The drilling process, components of drilling rigs, and potential failures for each component.
• The inspection programs for drill pipe and BHA as per the DS-1 (V3) standards.
• The detailed inspection procedures for the drill pipe and BHA are per DS-1 (V3).
• Understanding Fitness for Purpose and the Distinctions Between DS-1 and API.
• The inspection of tubing and casing is in accordance with the API 5A5/5CT standard.

The trainee is advised to possess the following qualifications and resources:

• Level II certifications in MT, PT, VT, UT, and EMI
• A basic engineering/physics background
• Copies of the DS-1 V edition (Volume 3) and API RP 5A5 standards

Course Assessment:

Theoretical and practical Examination.

Certification:

Upon successful completion of the training, the trainee will receive a training completion certificate authorised and stamped by Level III and the certified DS-1 Instructor from EiToP.

Payment Terms:

• The main online course (for any number of trainees)
• A face-to-face teaching add-on at the customer’s location
• Level II in EMI (+ a brief of MT, PT, VT, UT, and RT)
• OCTG certificate for each trainee
• EMI ASNT certificate for each trainee
